How do you work with clients?
Collaboration is a key factor in the success of your project. In order for our process to work, you must be an active participant. Other steps include:
A preliminary meeting identifies your goals and objectives. Our consultants will also gather background information during the early phase of your project.
We conduct regulatory and program research based on your specific program goals.
We follow-up with additional meetings and address information requests to report on research findings and explore plans.
The team takes all information gathered and conducts program analyses to identify the best recommendations.
In collaboration with the decision makers on your team, a review of PHC’s findings will be conducted. Here, we explain the rationale for the development and implementation of our customized recommendations for your organization.
Development and next steps are then addressed with your leadership team.
Plan is finalized.
Once next steps have been identified, Ponaman Healthcare Consulting can play an active role in the implementation and ongoing support of your program.
What kind of experience do you have?
Ponaman Healthcare Consulting offers extensive expertise in the 340B arena, as well as with regulatory compliance, safety net provider support, data analysis and internal auditing. In addition to helping clients decrease costs while increasing services they provide, PHC has worked with clients to develop unique models of healthcare delivery. In 2012, PHC collaborated with Lakeland Regional Medical Center and county officials in Polk County, Florida to develop a new safety net model, resulting in a $4 million grant, which was the largest awarded to a health care organization in that region.
I understand that the initial consultation is free. What does that cover?
This is an initial discussion about how your organization operates, who you serve, whether you receive grant dollars or discounts on pharmacy or supplies. We’ll also ask you about your goals – do you want to identify more revenue streams, reduce costs without reducing service, or form a new entity, such as an Accountable Care Organization? With this information, we will be able to determine whether the Ponaman Healthcare Consulting team can help you achieve your goals. Initial consultations typically take an hour
What will your services cost?
Ponaman Healthcare Consulting strives to have the costs of our initial phases covered by grants from approved programs or at a flat fee rate. Later phases of any project are reimbursed on a time-and-expense basis. You’ll be presented with a detailed project plan and a “not-to-exceed” budget that you will approve before we begin your project. Ongoing consulting services beyond your initial project are available through a monthly retainer program. We can customize a fee schedule that offers you access to our expertise, as required. Typically, cost savings and revenue increases will offset costs.
How do I qualify to become a covered entity?
At Ponaman Healthcare Consulting, we have helped many organizations qualify for government programs that allowed them to save money, operate more efficiently and provide underserved patients with greater access to health care. At the start of your project, we will be able to assess whether your entity qualifies for Medicaid or Medicare grants or discounts, and other potential government programs.
